not as impactful as the other Shakespeare plays I've read. the language is of course both gorgeous and fun, but I don't really care about the fate of these characters

i genuinely really enjoyed this. it was a pretty difficult read (as any shakespeare play is, nothing compares to seeing an actual production) but definitely worth it. i felt sympathy for virtually every character, and i also hated every character. good job shakespeare.

Insane...loved this book! In fact, it's one of the few Shakespeare plays that I actually liked, rather than simply read because it was classic. Brutus and Cassius versus Antony and Octavius put so many human strengths and flaws on display, giving an incredibly nuanced view of what it means to be humans living and struggling through life and trying your best to do what's right, only to die in the end.
