4 ⭐️ ooooo this was the perfect read for sad girl fall!! grew to care so deeply about aldo and regan’s complex and messy relationship, the writing was so unique, so flowery, a bit “pretentious” (but in a good way!!), literally could not put this down. highlighted so many stunning paragraphs to return to and ponder. the dialogue, the chemistry, the descriptions!! absolutely addicting. this book is honestly such a powerful piece of art.
olivie blake touches on this in the acknowledgements, but this book toes the line of being relatable/validating for some and romanticizing unhealthy behaviors for others. truly depends on your perspective, but if i was actively struggling with a codependent relationship/unmedicated mental illness i feel like this would’ve been dangerous for me to read, so always check content warnings and proceed with caution!
