Will come back to probably. Having a hard time getting into and the humor doesn't really work for me.

I went into this book with no expectations but was thoroughly impressed! I couldn't predict anything that was going to happen and it really kept me on my toes. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!

LGBT necromantic sci-fi is really all I need to say, but I'll go one step further. Gideon the Ninth is a rambunctious, badass murder mystery that drops you into its world with little explanation. I was forced to puzzle out much of GtN's setting for half of the book, which admittedly left me confused much of the time, but once I was in, I was IN. Charismatic characters, especially in the irreverent, sarcastic Gideon. Rich necromancy-based magic systems. Action-packed swordplay and magic fights. I laughed, I grieved, I was chilled to the bone, I had a blast.
