I know I'm in the vast, vast majority here, but this was not good. Like at all. The art was clunky, the story was disjointed, and the dialogue was all over the place. I enjoyed Year One but this was the complete opposite.

Really good action and I enjoy Miller's Artwork in here as well. Carrie Kelley is a great Robin. However I'd loved to have seen Batman a little more as a detective in here, and at some point the Story can drag a little. Issues 1 and 3 are the clear stand outs in my opinion.
Obviously this book was very influential, and it should be held in high regard for it, but the story itself is a little overrated, and the final issue started the (annoying) trend that Batman is basically invincible with enough prep time. However it's still an enjoyable read and essential for every Batman fan.

Found the multiple storylines confusing to follow, since there would be a panel or two or three randomly placed within a different storyline. Same with the (apparently) random Superman averting world war three storyline.
Graphic: Blood, Gore, Death, and Violence

Uniquely effective take on the "old man with a gun" sub-genre of western fiction. Batman by way of Clint Eastwood.
