The dreaded miscommunication trope....

This book started out with a blind date between Marshall and Felix that went terribly, and a miscommunication that led to feelings of rejection. What followed was more miscommunication and eavesdropping that only further led to more hurt feelings and more miscommunication. That all being said, it takes a truly talented author to write character insecurities in such a way that they feel like they're your own, so you understand the miscommunication and their second guessing everything in their relationship.

Felix felt like he was just being used by Marshall because he was easy and Marshall just wanted to lose his v card, when he's actually looking for a relationship. Marshall felt like Felix only wanted him for sex and a casual relationship. Despite all the things that could have been avoided if they had just talked about their feelings, both of these characters had amazing personality growth throughout the story. Felix had been pretty selfish and self absorbed in Platonic Playbook (his dad's book) and even in the first book of this series, we see him as a flirt. And Marshall was just quiet and kind of an antisocial virgin. But together, Marshall gained confidence in himself and went for what he wanted, and Fe, because of Marshall's Marshmallowy sweetness in showing him he deserved the world, realized his worth.

I loved how supportive their friends were of their budding relationship. It was great seeing their involvement, as well as all of their family members. Both have some pretty great families. And it was so fun to see.

Overall, Marshall/Marshmallow is what made this story for me. He is one of the best book boyfriends. He was committed, he valued Felix as he was, he did everything he could to make Felix see his worth. He was a big softy and exactly what Felix needed.

What can I say about the second book about the FUKings other than it was absolutely amazing! Not only did I fall in love with Fe and Marshmallow but the amount of Easter eggs this book had made a book nerd like me scream in excitement! I know that this is a standalone book, but the little snippets of other love stories by Saxon James AND Eden Finley had me squealing!

Reasons I Recommend:

1) Easter Eggs! This book, my god! We got the hint of Heath and Griff from Platonic Rulebook AND got to see them together a few years later and happy. We got the reminder of Felix’s embarrassing coming out story from Platonic Rulebook only to find out his dad is bi and his complete shock! We get to meet Brady Talon and Peyton Miller and get the famous kids of famous celebrities vibe from @finley.eden Fake Boyfriend series which wets everyone’s appetite for what’s to come with Football Royalty! We get to meet Marshall, Robbie’s quiet and favourite nerdy brother, as in the very Marshmallow of our favourite frat brother from Master of Mayhem. We get an intro to Liam aka Mr Romance who brought brings back the connection to Robbie with his viral video. We get Robbie and Brando meeting Felix when they all go back to the farm. Get more of frat boy Robbie nicknaming Felix bro-ite which is SO his character! And on top of it all, we get to see Marshall attempting to deal with pretending not to know what the hell is going on between Ty and Brax which is a throwback to @rileyhartwrites first book in the series. AND We get to see the beforehand of the 10year frat reunion when Robbie drops off the kids. It was like five great stories in one when you know all of the secret background!

2) Two idiots in love — one of my favourite tropes. I cannot express how many times the other contradicted the other to the point where I just wanted to scream TALK TO EACH OTHER! and

3) F-E-L-I and an X.
