There's a review on goodreads, where someone said that she had been a Gaiman fangirl, so when she first read this, she loved it, but a re-read found it kind of blah. Having done the same - and having ZERO memory of reading this something like 15 years ago - I suspect we should make a group of Recovering Gaiman Fangirls/boys.

A solid storyline that is an enjoyable read and only suffers from trying to fit in slightly too many characters. Includes a marvel spotlight at the end that is an interesting insight into Neil Gaiman.

There's some good stuff in here. Most of that good stuff can be found in Marvel's Eternals (2021) instead of this.

Interesting. I understand the MCU better now if nothing else. Wasn’t expecting it to be a riff on Greek and Roman mythology.

2022: I read this around watching the movie for the first time. Started it before watching the movie, finished it afterwards. I found the comic less memorable than the movie, though it did have that distinct Gaiman flavor which I enjoy.

This was a much better read than I expected. I was leant this by a classmate due to my interest in learning more about The Eternals before the movie came out in November. This book was full of literal magic and truly alien aliens. I really enjoyed the story it told and am extremely excited for the movie!
