It might be too long, and maybe not much happens in terms of plot per se, but the story is told in such a charismatic and purposeful manner that it kept me interested the entire time. The story is meandering and the characters are despicable, but there is clear intention behind everything. Much to think about 🤒

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, but found it too long. I did not appreciate the multiple false endings. I did like the twisty family story.

Surely dragged on at many points but the ending was very possession! I’m glad I’m done w this book

Long journey. I don’t even know. But I’m impressed. It’s brilliant.

Some books just have a way of leaving a mark, even (or especially) when you don't expect them to.

With a cast of unlikeable liars and tales of and disillusionment.

A bad rendition of wanting "more than this provincial life," if you will.

Expansive and written almost like fantasy, yet truthfully emotional and close to real life. I enjoyed this book a lot!
