When I first started reading this book I wasn’t in a good mood, so I can’t say that I devoured it but I didn’t stop reading it. Beck and Alice are something interesting. Both of them have a way of interacting with each other that works between them. I liked that. I liked their conversations, and the fact that when the hard “times” came they were mature enough to talk with each other and not run. I didn’t really understood Beck, but I’m not a rich gal so I can’t talk about it without beeing out of context. Alice was strong, a little too understanding but in the same time she put her foot down when it came to people taking advantage. I liked Beck’s brothers and sister and how they came together when in need.
Overall I liked this book even though it took me a long time to finish it (it was because of me, not the book). I laughed and I liked Beck and Alice together, they were made for each other for real. They clicked. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for this story because I liked how it was written and I liked the characters a little too much.

I usually love this author’s books but this story didn’t work for me.
H and h have an instant connection - He’s a busboy where she works. Turns out he’s super rich and invites her to live in Denver with him maybe three days after they met.
Three days.
Idk - it felt super rushed.
Although I am trash for reading about the lives of the 1%

So... I had a good time. At least in the first half of the book.
The two stars are mainly for the level of entertainment, but honestly I had a LOT of problems with this.
We start off with insta love, which is something you must like. I was intrigued and kept on reading. At first we get a cute, well developing relationship with the two main characters but after Becks father dies and he goes back home everything went downhill.
Not just the relationship stopped developing COMPLETELY but also Becks attempt to have a new (very different) life, is being COMPLETELY forgotten. It's like he's back into his rich life, spending money irresponsibly and doesn't even think of leaving his luxurious life behind.
Beck in generell was my biggest problem.
He's making super impulsive, weird, BIG decisions and (as I said) spends money very irresponsibly. He's behaving like a child and totally selfish, after Alices and his fight (about him just lying about everything).HUGE RED FLAG AT THAT POINT!
From then on I couldn't feel sympathy for Beck again. To me it didn't feel like he had good intentions and is trust worthy. Because he's the love Interest we know he probably has and is but I guess that isn't the right reason.
She tells him she wants a slow new start, get to know him again, trying to establish trust again. He accepts it but... not even 24h later, he asks her to marry him and keeps pushing her to accept and say "I love you" to him. Which he, before that, didn't even say once but then keeps throwing at her.
The books ends with her still saying they need to build up trust again and work things out but at the same time is already engaged, lives with him in a huge house, has a job at their company and basically everything else.
I don't really know what to think of Alice, she was fine but you know...very naive (which is nothing new in these kind of books) so I don't really think this is a huge thing to mention.
What I liked is, that she was at first really trying to make it clear to Beck that it isn't okey to Lie about EVERYTHING. She made clear rules, and clear statements. But as I said, it didn't last long, so that for, isn't worth mentioning as something positive.
At that point I ask myself what the purpose of this books is.
After the plot twist nothing is being worked out. Just him pushing her into marriage and already forgets about that she wanted to take things slow.

I couldn’t give you one character in this book that was actually likeable, okay, maybe Henry was but he is like 16 so it shouldn’t count. The rest of these characters are all freaking weird with drama and snobbery at the forefront.
Beck is a pathological liar and manipulator. Alice ha son back bone, even though she says she does. Emma, is an awful person. And all the other supporting characters were dull and two dimensional in a world that pretty much revolved around Beck, Alice and the amount of money that Beck has.
The whole story was boring, lacking in any depth and just plain awful there is no real conflict, there is no real story and there is definitely nothing in this book that would make me recommend it to anyone else.
I have loved many of Kylie’s books before but this is one of the first where I can honestly say I would never again read it and offer anyone interested in reading this not to waste their money.

Uhmm so I have complaints. Finished this a week ago so I'll be pulling from the memory bank
-First, I wanted something trashier? Feels weird to complain about something being TOO good but it's not REALLY too good, it's just trying to be too good? Like at it's core, this book is trashy so stop trying so hard. Just embrace that.
-I wanted more of Beck as a busboy in LA. That's what made me pick up the book in the first place and that part only lasted like.. 1 chapter. Come'on Man.
- Holy 0 to 60 Batman. Like there are books where they inst-love/relationship, and then there's this one on a whole knew level. I will say it felt natural enough at the VERY beginning. but then it got weird.
- I had minimal caring for the society drama. Whatever.
- I had medium caring for the family drama.
- I had no caring for the ex-girlfriend drama.
- They really just kept brushing aside how controlling Beck was. Or like pretending to address it but ultimately brushing it aside.
- I would have love a time jump somewhere in there. I could deal with the insta-relationship they had going on if that ENDING had happened after a 1 year time jump or something. Have SOME chill guys.
Overall I had fun I guess. But it really wasn't what I expected.
