3.6 AVERAGE

While I generally like how quiet the Isabel Dalhousie books are, this one struck me as almost too quiet, hardly a mystery at all. Also, the focus on Isabel's personal life--while not unexpected--did not work as well for me as it did in the first book in this series.

This was much more of a page-turner for me than the first two, and I'm eager to see where the author is going to take things in #4.

I thought this was a mystery novel until 1/3 of the way through....which somewhat explains my disappointment. Also, I never read the first two. I was desperate for a book, folks.

i had no idea this was book no 3 when I picked it up from the library, whoops!

It was still a good standalone and an easy enjoyable read but nothing special so 2.5 stars

Boring. So many irrelevant asides.

Harmless, entertaining mystery.

I wanted a quick read that somewhat holds my interest and this filled the bill this week. Light, with a few twists especially at the end. I'm not looking for deep when I read Mr. Smith's books, just some humor and easy prose.
