I loved this book! The tale of Beren and Lúthien has always been one of my favourite stories in the Silmarillion and I loved being able to see the evolution of the story to the one that I know and love.

Christopher Tolkien has done a fantastic job of collating and publishing his fathers work and whenever I see anything that means coming back to Middle Earth I jump at the chance to do so.

I’ve seen a couple of people say that this isn’t what they expected and in many ways it wasn’t what I expected but I enjoyed being able to see how the story changed and grew with each pass over from Tolkien.
