Fun read that flew by. I know it will fly off my shelf at school!

An appealing tone that is both light--with plenty of situational humor--and thought-provoking. An outrageously impossible situation that is dealt with so realistically it almost seems believable. It satisfied my literary desires for both entertainment and edification, without either detracting from the other. Highly enjoyable and recommended.

Ellie’s grandfather has a scientific breakthrough and has managed to turn himself into a 14 year old boy. He moves in with Ellie and her mom and they all experience the growing pains of both having your elderly parent move in with you and also having a teenaged boy living in the house. Despite the bickering between her mother and grandfather, Ellie’s curiosity about science is ignited and while her grandfather dreams about winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his discovery, Ellie contemplated the larger societal consequences of never growing old. A thought provoking novel about science and growing up and family relationships.

Now that I've heard Jennifer Holm speak in real life, I hear her voice telling this story very clearly. She does deadpan humor in almost every character description.

It reads like a slice-of-life, more than a scientist's experiment gone wrong, but all the science points are made, by the end.

It's enjoyable, with some thoughtful critique of scientific progress that is age-appropriate and relevant.

Science!

Clever storyline. Enjoy the way nonfiction information weaves through this text. Especially appreciate the issues it tackles towards the end. 6th grade read!

This book was really funny. Loved the grandfather. Liked Raj. But I didn't get how nobody had any issue with the grandfather and what he'd done. No logistics. No long-term consequences. Not until the book was nearly over.
