The Wild Silence is written just as beautifully as The Salt Path was, and is full of Winn's signature close observations of nature. Now living tentatively back amongst society, this book primarily explores what it means to loose trust, as well as themes of grief and anxiety.

I was once again immersed by Winn's incredibly visual writing, and her ability to capture emotion. This book takes the reader back through formative moments in both Winn and Moth's past, allowing us a deeper understanding of their relationship with each other and the natural world. There is a therapeutic feel to the writing as it recounts life after leaving the coastal path and adjusting to extreme changes. While this book does have a slower pace, it is no less driven or emotionally open, and it is therefore impossible not to be invested in the story.
