I might have enjoyed this more than the author's first book. Continuing to wrestle with the issues of life, death and trust, this book painted portraits of glorious landscapes, ramshackle farms and the freedom of the outdoors. A sadness overlayed the author for me as she continued to dismiss any higher calling or after life, just viewing things in a circular pattern. However, her narration of the book, the soft tone and the immaculate descriptions made this a really good read. It was a bit slow but having already invested in the salt path, I was more eager to find out what happened.
her conclusions of just keep fighting and exercising and walking left me a bit hesitant, as she took it up as a battle cry
