Read this in a couple of hours while waiting in a hospital. Plot was interesting, prose was acceptable (although the first-person narrator talked just a bit too much like a stereotypical teenage boy), characters were sufficiently distinguished from one another, but ultimately pure entertainment. Main plot resolved by violence, so don't expect any deep philosophical insights here.
Mickey’s story in Shelter was beautiful. The mystery between mickey’s girlfriend Ashley going missing and why an old woman in a creepy house is saying his father who he watched die is alive. It kept me on the edge of my seat during the heist in the school, sneaking into bat lady’s house and finding Ashley in a strip club. I absolutely love this story and can’t wait to grab Seconds away!

Quiero pensar que cuando a alguien se le da la oportunidad para colaborar con una marca o empresa, este es totalmente franco y su juicio no se ve nublado por esta condición.
En mi caso esta ha sido mi primera colaboración de un libro que simplemente me llamó la atención, y como amé ese sentimiento. Este es un libro del que no había oído escuchar y sin embargo ya tiene una adaptación en Prime Video (que no he visto todavía) es decir creo que el equipo de marketing de Amazon Prime Video le ha faltado ilusión por este título, o esa ha sido mi visión.
Ahora, ¿ha sido un libro perfecto? Para nada, lo que sí ha sido es súper sencillo y adictivo. Da las vibes de Thriller y Percy Jackson combinados, de verdad lo recomiendo extremadamente, la intriga que me daban los personajes fue alucinante, y después vi que había segunda parte. Tengo muchísimas ganas de hacerme con la siguiente copia, ya no puedo esperar a ver qué ocurre con la trama y con los personajes ¿Qué va ocurrir con ellos? ¿Y cómo van a solucionar aquello que ocurrió?
Ha sido una experiencia increíble para ser la primera vez, y estoy súper agradecida.

Harlan Coben writes so well, I love his ability to endear you to his characters.

Got this as I saw it was filmed as a short (limited?) TV-Series, and in Germany (where I live and breath) shown on Amazon Prime. The Trailer was none too good, regarding faithfulness to the book?!
Also, I am not too fond of the few Coben books I read and the TV series I saw or began to see and DNFed.
This one is classified as YA, and with a theme, which is only later revealed, not mentioned before, or I would have hesitated picking up the book. As not to spoil it, that theme is not a trigger (I hope).
Other things mentioned could be, but I think it is sensible handled.
Recommended for fans of Harlan Coben (which I am not), YA crime, and juvenile detective work. May read the next book, as this is planned as a series. There is not hard cliffhanger, but I can see a few questions unsolved which could be handled in the next book. If the next book continues the main theme (the "not to spoil it"-theme), I will most certainly stop reading this series. Reading this review rounding up to 4 stars looks exaggerated, but I leave it at that.

I haven't read a good mystery in a long time and I'm so glad that I picked this one up. I had only read one of Harlan Coben's adult books and I think he did a great job with this one. There are not a lot of books out there for teen boys and this one I can't wait to share with the teens at my school.
Mickey is a great lead character. He is caring, compassionate and not a jerk like most teen guys in books. He doesn't care what others think of him and he is a great new character that will be great within this new series.
I loved how this book kept me wanting to read more and guess what was going to happen. A true mystery novel is written like that. I also loved how the ending was a great cliffhanger! I am such an advocate for those and I love when the first book in a series ends like that because it makes me want to read on!
