Harlan Coben

3.74 AVERAGE

Even though this was written for a YA audience, fans of Coben's Myron Bolitar series will enjoy this one as well. I bought it so my 13 yo son and I could both read it, and we enjoyed it a lot. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Read it in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Love Mickey, Ema, and Spoon (especially Spoon). Reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but without the supernatural baddies.
adventurous tense fast-paced

This was my first Harlan Coben book, but it won't be my last. I was hooked from the first page. Some parts were definitely unrealistic, and you have to just suspend your disbelief, but that's just fiction.

I particularly enjoyed the characters and the friendships developed in this book. I look forward to reading the sequel.

I will freely admit that I love Coben's adult mysteries. But I wasn't sure how that would translate into a book for teens. Now I think that teens will love this mystery because Mickey is a great character who doesn't run to his big-name uncle when he gets in to deep. Plus Ema is a GREAT best friend! There was a lot of action and suspense and a very touching story line.

one time i was doomscrolling tiktok late at night and i came across a very passionate video about this book and clearly i was *influenced* because here we are.

i'm truly shocked at how much i loved this. the friendships! the mysteries! the teen angst! i connected to these characters quickly and strongly, and i miss them already. this book was fast-paced and keeps you engaged from page one, and it's not an easy mystery to solve.

i can't wait to start the next one!!! 5/5

Loving this new addition to the Bolitar series.
Might be aimed at young adults but its as captivating as any of the Myron Bolitar novels.

Like uncle like nephew! I love the cliff hanger ending as well!
