I thought from the description that the whole book was going to be about the two characters lost in the wilderness but that's actually only about 30% of the novel. The rest is a middling contemporary romance about coming out where all problems are solved unreasonably quickly. The enemies bit of enemies to lovers lasts all of ten minutes or so, a major trait of a prominent character isn't revealed until the second to last chapter for some reason, the main character’s best friend had literally no redeeming qualities, and there was some weird language around gender that surprised me in a book published in 2020. Disappointed.
Graphic: Homophobia, Religious bigotry, and Sexual content
Moderate: Panic attacks/disorders, Transphobia, Bullying, Cursing, Death, Emotional abuse, Infidelity, and Medical content
Minor: Biphobia, Eating disorder, Body shaming, Vomit, Toxic relationship, and Excrement
Biphobia is brought up and dismissed by the characters, homophobia drives most of the conflict in the book, and the transphobia is multiple instances of the book conflating genitals and gender.
