I didn't fully understand the allegory here, but this was intriguing, especially towards the end. Very dreamlike and unsettling.
Right near the end there's what seems to be some brief and baffling racism where a character with "skin and hair as dark as a gorilla's" appears and is described as an ape and a monkey repeatedly over the next few pages. It really pulled me out of the story just as it was at its most interesting.
