*I am the author of Runaway Girl*

Runaway Girl is the first book in the Secrets of Avelina Chronicles. It centres on the character Damian, a vampire soldier, and his search for the missing vampire princess, Amelia. His past with Amelia, of both love and hate, send his emotions spiralling from wanting to find her, to wanting to kill her whenever she gets back. However, her soul was split years before, when sent into a human body. Damian must find the five human girls who have the potential of housing Amelia's soul fragments, and unite them in order to return the princess to her rightful place.

What complicates matters is the fact that Damian and Amelia are promised to one another. They are set to unite, in order to unite the three vampire clans for the first time in centuries. Without Damian, Amelia cannot rule, but with Amelia, Damian cannot take his place on the throne. And that is only if Amelia's brother Matthew, does not fight for his right to take his fathers place as leader of the vampire clan.

The more I read this book, the more I love it. The strength, the love, the determination of the characters and their stories...the interwoven friendships that stand the test of time. Overall, Runaway Girl is a novel about finding yourself, finding out who you are and what you feel, without letting anyone else influence you. It's about family and friendship and loyalty. Even if that loyalty asks you to give up something, or someone you love.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank Elaine White, author of Runaway Girl for giving me this wonderful opportunity of reading and reviewing this book and would love to thank Lovers of Paranormal group for allowing me to read this book under the Read to Review scheme and thanks to Carrie for being such a wonderful and patient moderator.

Ah, great and intriguing experience and hats off to the author because she thought out this whole story line and unique plot. The characterization is awesome and the fact really touched my heart that the characters are well developed and fully flourished.

The author brought a total new take on the vampire genre where she made them familiar and part of the regular world rather than being spooky and alien.

The total concept of shattering soul and getting distributed among five different girls and then the quest of bringing back all the shattered parts and making them one and whole was really intriguing and interesting.

The action is power-packed and the suspense and mystery that the author introduced here with a pinch of romance is great and well thought and it really did spiced up the story.

Thee are many shocking revelations and unexpected twists and turns which make it a real page turner and it grabbed my attention and kept a firm hold on it till the end.

The different POVs really made it easier for me to connect to different characters and experience their emotions more accurately.

A great and must read for ya all so go and garv your copy and enjoy the ride folks!

Review to followThe premise of Runaway Girl interested me from the start. Amelia, a Vampire Princess with some serious issues decides that she will perform a rite with the aid of a voodoo master. The plan is that she will allow her soul to reside within a human until such a time when she returns into her vampire self, hopefully, having learned how not to be a jaded princess. However, the voodoo master’s master plan doesn’t work the way it was supposed to, and her soul is fractured into the bodies of five human girls. The pieces of her soul must be retrieved and restored into one girl in order to bring Amelia back as the new leader of the Vampire race.

Sounds cool, doesn’t it? Elaine White has crafted an interesting and complex plot line with original characters and a unique storyline that will definitely keep you on your toes. What I would have loved to see is fewer points of view or less frequent perspective changes. Runaway Girl switches point of view between seven-eight different characters, and there is a new character every chapter. As a reader, I struggled to keep up with that a bit. If the number of POVs had been decreased or we stayed with each POV longer, I think the challenge would have been eliminated and I would have had even more of a connection to the characters.

If you enjoy vampires and want to continue your vampire education past books like Twilight and Thirst, you might enjoy Runaway Girl.

Bottom Line: Vampire lovers will thoroughly enjoy Runaway Girl,as well as White’s unique take on vampire lure.

Gaaah, I hate giving 2* star ratings!

Runaway Girl is a tale about one man's quest to piece together the soul of his bride-to-be in order to become an Elder i.e. rule the future clans. When I was first approached about this book I was so excited to begin reading it; it contained the paranormal and an incredibly interesting and original twist: the fracturing of a soul and the hunt to reunite these pieces via 5 girls. Sounds amazing!

Now let me explain my reasoning behind the rating. I found this book to be a very original idea with so much potential, but I was unable to get past a few things. I couldn't relate to any of the characters, I felt it difficult to empathise with them. I also found it difficult to keep up with the switching narratives, there were so many characters and personalities it took a lot of attention to keep up with where it was going. I felt that there wasn't a lot of emphasis on the grudges within the novel. I am left wondering what is going to come in the following novels...

Despite these aspects, I still believe that this tale has potential. It's a very interesting concept, I'm just disappointed that I didn't enjoy it more.
