Action sequences were great and the main character has more depth than I was expecting - fun read!
I've read this book a few times now, though apparently I never wrote a review. Anyways, throne of glass is one of my all time favorite series. I think it always will be. Now that it's over and I've read the entire thing, I was able to pick up all the little hints that make up books further down the line. That was really cool. To write of a world so vast, wow how incredible. I can only hope to write a world so creative and loved one day. The characters are so complicated and flawed that you cant help but love them. I believe I'll always hold them dear to me as any friends. Third read and still loving it.

Overall solid read. I read her other series first and was not a fan of the writing, so I’m pleasantly surprised.
There were several sections that felt a bit like info-dumping, and some of the character monologues could be a little tough to get through. All in all it was engaging, and I’ll keep reading the series.

This is a 4-star rating for a *YA fantasy novel*. If it were an adult fantasy, it would be a 3, with a note that it should not be taken too seriously.
This would've been one of my favorite books as a pre-teen. In fact, it would've probably been up there with Shannon Hale's, The Goose Girl.
Despite some minor Sarah J. Maas writing style-related annoyances, I *really* enjoyed Throne of Glass. The character development, pacing, and plot were all well executed. Once again, I was enthralled by Maas' imagination and creativity.
Celaena made me chuckle aloud more than once, and I loved how the whole cast of young characters were teens (or in their early twenties) and *acted like it.*
I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
(And yes, this book/series feels very different than ACOTAR)
