The writing of this book radiates pure joy and it was so pleasant to read. It is impressive that it also manages to build a lot of suspense around the central mystery. I read this without reading the first of the trilogy and it held up well.

I loved this second book. The murder mystery in a closed environment is always a hit for me. And I liked that it wasn't just finding the killer but also finding what was stolen and then surviving. A lot in a single book, but all handed quite nicely.
And I loved Maud. She has her flaws but she felt real. As do the others characters. I just have something against her relationship with the Love Interest, which felt rushed to me. Which is logical as the story happens over a week, in a confined environment, and it suits her character but still, somehow, it felt a bit forced.

And now I do have to get the third book, because there is still a lot to uncover/answer. And I missed Edwin so I hope we will see him more in the next instalment.
