This was a cute easy ready. Super cutsey, cheesy and happy endings all around. Want a happy quick read that will make you giggle and feel good when you are done, this is the one!
A lovely Christmas story, maybe just a little too sweet and easy-resolving to my taste. But I did have my laughs while reading it.
I’m pretty sure I read Fried Green Tomatoes years ago, but I don’t remember it. I think that’s the only other Fannie Flagg book I’ve read. This one was fun! It started off a little slow for me, but once it got going, I enjoyed the story and the characters. I listened to the book, read by the author. That doesn’t always work out well, but Fannie is a great narrator and added a lot to the story. It’s fun hearing how an author really “heard” the characters in her head as she wrote.

This was by far a great book. Once you get started you won't put it down. I read it in one day.
I enjoyed this book much more than I expected to in the beginning. It is definitely not the most well-written book, but the story is sweet and the characters are like-able. Plus, who doesn't love a magical ending every once in a while?
This heartwarming story will make you want to move to “Redbird Alabama.” Although short like a novella I really loved the characters. It’s the first story to make me cry as it came together at the end. I felt hope and joy and everything that one of God’s creatures, a little red bird like Jack, could give to a whole community.
