Fanny Flaggs books are either a hit or a miss. This book of hers was a hit. I loved how it was written and it reminded me of other books I liked from her. Great story about Christmas, but if you want to read about miracles, you can read it every day. Loved it!
This book is so sweet! It is about a community who shows love to all who come there including, Oswald, an old gurmudgeon who needs to move to a warmer climate for his health, and Patsy, a young girl with a twisted hip. The community even falls in love with a Cardinal that they call Jack. Love abound throughout this novel, and the ending ties everything up in a beautiful Chirstmas bow. I can see it as a Hallmark movie which I am pretty sure they made.
Enjoyable little story with miraculous happily ever after. Read for my book club.
I absolutely loved this book! The novel was lighthearted and heart-breaking at times but overall just a lovely story. Flagg's characters were vivid, relatable people. Each character's background story was presented in a manner that was not dull or long-winded. They were lively, people who you felt you really knew. This is probably one of my top favorite reads now. <3
I very much enjoyed this story. It was very sweet and a good last read of the year. I think it wrapped up rather quickly , I liked the ending wrap ups but some of it felt so fast , and I wish we got to see a little more. I think it would make for a sweet Holliday film.
