This book takes us to Lost River, Alabama, where we meet Patsy, Oswald and many more loveable characters. Jack is a Redbird who lives in the local grocery store. This bird lives a short life that has a profound affect on the whole town. Such a heartwarming Christmas story!!

A cozy Christmas read with gentle humor and conflicts, a little bit of spice, and a sweet ending.

I tried explain Fannie Flagg to my husband. His response was isn't that what country music is for.

Probably the first "Christmas-themed" book I've read. I can't say if this is typical, but the whole twee, small-town homey saint-like people with a Christmas miracle to top off the whole thing wasn't really my usual style. It was good to get out of my comfort zone a bit though.
Loveable characters: Yes

I love, LOVE Fannie Flagg! This was not her best, but still a good book!

3.5 stars-cute story that you can just kind of coast through

This is a quick feel good read with several interwoven storylines. I enjoyed reading it, but it is a bit Hallmark in resolution.
