There was so much packed into this book, I'm certain I'm going to reread and dissect specific sentences over and over again. But at the same time I couldn't put it down???? It was brilliant, critical, depressing and hopeful all at once.
My own conception of trans misogyny (#AsATransWomaan) has been seriously challenged, or maybe just expanded... like when she talked about the structural relationships between gay men and trans women, the idea of trans women being excessive or trans-feminization as a process that does not care about individual identity. Also her commentary on the valorization of trans women of color?! That was basically academic shade...
seriously I'm so stunned by this book tho idk if I can read gender studies or even nonfiction for a while
