Sooooo slowly paced and I get that it’s a story about grief but I just couldn’t take the way the main character’s life entirely stalls, even with a very personal understanding of grief. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right headspace to read this but I couldn’t bring myself to finish even as an avid TJR lover.

"I don't lose him just by having a good time without him."

I had this in my Libby holds for a while bc I'm trying to get through all of TJR's books. Of course, it decided to appear on my shelf two weeks after losing my sister. A great read that really captures the truths of grief and gave me a reality check that I needed.

I should probably start reading the synopsis so I don’t get myself into these situations.

Although the main storyline behind the book is very sad, the story as a whole was rather sweet. I loved the relationships that developed and how the characters were able to express real emotions given triggering situations.

I listened to the audio and at the end was a conversation between narrator and author. I love that Taylor doesn’t see this as a sad book and I get her reasoning. It made me like the story that much more.
