my first review didn't save which is depressing bc it was unhinged and there's no way this will be as good but here goes...

If I had to describe this book in 2 words it would be FEMALE RAGE and I was HERE. FOR. IT. It was YASS QUEEN quite literally. And like, obvi we knew Emilia was going to become queen but the way this book made it happen was incredibly satisfying. It rounded out Emilia's and Vittoria's characters and solved/explained some of the issues I had with characterization in the second book. The little teases we got of the brothers were really intriguing and I will sell my kidneys for a Lust spin-off.

The spice amped up even more and was absolutely delicious. While it wasn't the most deranged smut I've read (this says more about me than the book), I still had to be careful about how loud I was listening to it in my car at red lights.

I think part of the reason I loved this series so much is because it feels like dark mythology. I can't exactly explain it but the idea of the sins and the goddesses and the magic is just 100% up my alley and I can't wait to read more of this universe.

The steamy scenes use naive language in my opinion, and made it cringey. Great concept for a book though.

Okay so I had a list of... let's say annoyances, that were all questions I developed that weren't answered in this book. Then I read on the author's instagram page that there's going to be at least 3 more books in this universe so I'm good haha
Anyways I REALLY freaking love Wrath!! And his brothers. And I can't wait to delve more into their stories
I was a little confused about the time moving and how much time had passed since the events.
The writing of Kerri Maniscalco is truly a beautiful sight though. I loved the Jack the Ripper series and I also loved this series and I'm excited for more by this author
though I must say, Wrath placed a Curse on Sursea that if she ever stepped foot onto any of the 7 Sins lands, she'd have a Curse on her but nothing ever happened of that even though by then Emilia and (maybe) Wrath could recall it

Overall I'd say it's a comfortable read with good humour and a nice amount of Spice and I'll be coming back to these books pretty soon most likely 😁

🪷 3.5/5 for quality, 4/5 for enjoyment, 4.5/5 for how wonderful these audiobooks continue to be.

💀 I think that the "memory loss" trope is a hard one to get right because, by nature, there has to be a lot of telling rather than showing for the MC and the reader to get caught up in the story. Especially in a mystery, which is what this book is at its core, I hate when the reader is just told the answers. That's my biggest gripe with this book without getting spoilery.

👑 That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride that this series has been. I liked seeing how all the pieces laid out in Book 1 fit in by the end of this book. I liked the relationship between Emilia and her love interest. I liked the interplay between the Princes of Hell, which we got to see more of in this book. I didn't always love the pacing or the storytelling style, but I did enjoy the writing style (I hope that differentiation makes sense?).

🖤 Overall this was a super fun series that I would have binged in a few days if I didn't have to wait for my Libby holds to come in. Cute banter. Steamy tension. Enough mystery and side plots left that there is room for the series to continue even though I feel like this wrapped up Emilia's arc pretty well.
