Del’s execution really is horrific, though apparently it’s not super realistic, and it feels hard to grasp the seriousness of the scene when you can feel King building it up as a gross-out rather than just a moral condemnation.

This series is such a mess. It’s exhausting. Sometimes I’m captured in the narrative, but mostly I’m just waiting for it to be over. I hate when King takes on subject matter that he can’t handle meaningfully.

Now they’re going to use poor Coffey to heal some white woman. Goody goody.

This series is amazing! I love how Delacroix's character has evolved throughout the series. His relationship with Mr. Jingles is adorable. The way Delacroix died was heartbreaking. I'm excited to start the next book.
