A big portion of the book is focused on the topic of illness (in particular Alzheimer's and cancer) and delves quite deeply and in detail into medical content. It is something that I struggle to read about, no matter how well and insightfully it is done.
There is also a lot of nature writing which is really not my cup of tea.
There were interesting and well-written reflections (I underlined a decent amount of passages and I only do that when something really stands out and impresses me), but they were balanced out by many other sections that I struggled to get through, either because of boredom or long-windedness.
