This second instalment grew on me by the end. MMC Jonah was the archetypal music nerd and I loved his character development throughout. He carried the book, I think. Model Anneke, the FMC, at times verged on too whimsical for my tastes. I didn’t connect well with her character, but in the context of the story development the romance worked. This story did play well on the opposites attract trope and the level of steam (closed door) was ideal for what I like.

Everything about this was perfect.
New Orleans
All of the music references
JONAH
I don’t even care that there’s no spice because everything is just so heartfelt and real.

I really enjoyed this opposites attract, dual POV, kissing only romance set in New Orleans. Full of heart, humor and Melanie Jacobson's trademark swoony sweet characters. Great on audio too! If you haven't tried the Love in New Orleans series yet you're missing out.

Another easy and enjoyable read as I sit around with a bum knee. I was entertained but just wasn’t as caught up in a story about a guy being insecure around a successful woman.

meh

half of this book felt like it was copy and pasted off the wiki page for New Orelans/Mardi Gras and the other half was anneke stringing along a guy forcing his hand and then being the one to pull back and then keep blaming him and never having any faults. quite frustrating to finish but i have a rule against DNF. the first book about ellie and miles was annoying/frustrating but not this bad.
