I have no idea who this was written for, it felt like a lot of nah humbug about the new versions of the fashion crowd, and the contradictory messages gave me whiplash. Genuinely there was a conversation about sustainable fashion and the next essay extolled the virtues of Zara. A passage about dressing her kids ended with her shuddering to think how extreme she would have been if she’d had daughters, was followed by a paragraph where her and her son discussed how gender is a social construct and clothing shouldn’t be split into male and female.
Baffling.
