Another excellent entry in the "History of [...] Stuff" series - this time, we learn all about phones!

Covers the history of the telephone, from tin cans and string to Alexander Graham Bell to Steve Jobs and the iPhone. The back of the book section is excellent, as always - in this installment, we learn about the anatomy of the ear and how we hear sounds, different ways to answer your phone around the world, and how to make a pie chart.

The only thing missing? What 4-1-1 means and how it's relevant to the telephone. Ah, well - it gives the kiddos something to ask a grown-up about, and maybe try calling themselves (with supervision)!
