Good, but not great. It seemed like it had the potential to be great.

Ends abruptly without really concluding the story. Also kind of meh

2.5 stars. Really interesting premise, but felt underdeveloped, perhaps because it stemmed from a short story.

Interesting, thought-provoking quick read. Good if you like dystopian feminist works.

So first of all I think it’s weird to call this the Pakistani version of the handmaids tale because this book is better than the handmaids tale.

This was like the opposite of The End of Men except it started way after the pandemic and shit. I’m glad I read them both one right after the other because EoM was like “we are all very sad bc all the men in the world died but we’re in this together and we are going to make a new world and try to have a future” and this was like “ever wonder what would happen if men outnumbered women 20:1? Spoiler alert: it would suck!” I kinda liked the characters but I felt like Sabine was kinda boring and had no personality. Lin and Rupa were interesting and Reuben was not very predictable but still didn’t do anything totally out of the blue. I did not care for the doctor and I felt like if you couldn’t handle doing character development on that many people then you should have fewer people in your book. Oh also this book had some weird word choice stuff like they said “assignation” instead of “assignment” 例えば
