While one of the tropes that was in the first book happened again in this book the ending blew my mind

I liked it overall. The last 100 pages were the most interesting but in the middle it was a little slow sometimes

I was going to give this book a 3.5 till I read the ending. I liked it but nothing compared to the first.

The story was still set in Bayview High, but we follow a fairly new set of characters instead of the Bayview Four. I ended up liking Maeve the most, while Knox and Phoebe didn't make enough of a splash for me. Their voices ended up being so similar that it was difficult for me to discern which chapters were in their POVs at times. I did end up enjoying their friendship but it wasn't enough to make me like the book as much as the first one. I felt like the stakes weren't as high and there wasn't a pressing sense of urgency that made me want to find out what happens next.

If you liked One of Us Is Lying, you might want to read this one, but I wouldn't say that it's a must.

More teenage drama than mystery but I still enjoyed it. Definitely liked book 1 and its character better but this was still an entertaining read. I will continue the series.
