Despicable protagonist. A bit of a slog to get through. It may be Kafka-esque, but only if Kafka leaned into his worst tendencies.

A strange read in both a positive and negative sense. The beginning and end were amazing, in fact during the first 100 pages I really thought this would be a 5 star read, but the middle lost all coherance for me. I realise that its supposed to be strange, dreamlike and divorced from reality, but it really lost me during this section. Any immersion I had during the beginning was gone. I still think it was an interesting read and I may check out more from this author though so it hasn't completely scared me off.
