Cheers to Jarrett Lerner. An early reader that tells a silly fun-to-read story in simple readable terms. I've loved watching JL make art and talk about reading on Instagram for a long time. Love his work so much!

This isn't a completely controlled vocabulary early reader, but it does heavily emphasize single syllable cvc words with lots of repetition. Would be best when read with an adult to assist with the words that won't be able to be figured out phonetically early on in the reading journey.

This book is fantastic! A great early reader/pre-reader that kids will love. The meta play between character and narrator is hilarious and done in a way that kids will be in on the joke. Speech bubbles will help kids understand dialogue and the role of speech in text. A perfect lead-in to Elephant & Piggie and other similar books.
