This is my first book by Carrie Elks and I hope it won't be my last. Her writing style is awesome. In this story you will see how much family comes into play. Cesca has a strong bond with her four sisters, and Sam's barely getting along with his father.
Cesca's life has been a mess for the last few years. Hoping from job to job, not having any place to stay, her family living in different parts of the world-it wasn't easy for her. She had hopes and dreams that were crashed, or so she thinks, when she was 18 years old. She agrees, with the help of her godfather, to house sit for the Carlton family. Little did she know, the guy who crashed her dreams shows up to the house...the famous Sam Carlton. Sam is having a rough time with his career right now. A scandal happens and he needs to get away. When Cesca and Sam see each other, Cesca is not happy and Sam has no idea who she is. They ease into a friendship...I recommend reading the book to see how it plays out! :)

I ADORE Carrie Elks' books. They're feel good, easy reads that make you care about the characters. Her writing style is very fluid and whisks you away into the lives of imaginary people.

Summer's Lease is no different. I honestly felt so much pity and sorrow for Cesca in the beginning, I wanted her to succeed, to get a happy ever after.

When she goes to Italy, through the descriptions, I felt as if I was there beside her, breathing in the fresh air of Lake Como and soaking in the rays of the sun.

Cesca is stuck in a rut. She bounces from job to job, and can barely afford to pay her rent. All because of one person - that's how she sees it anyway. She goes to Italy to not only make some money without having to worry about all her other bills, but also to remind herself who she is and what she wants out of life.

It's all going well until Sam Carlton turns up, hiding from the trappings of fame, fortune, and Hollywood.

As enemies to lovers books go, this is one of the best I have read. A mixture of soft scenes, steamy scenes, and angsty drama, it's got everything.

I can't wait to read the rest in the series.

é uma leitura leve e rapidinha de fazer, boa pra passar o tempo, mas a história não me cativou como eu esperava e eu achei até fraca. e tiveram alguns partes que me incomodaram bastante.

Can love survive disappointment and time?
Cesca and Sam had a brief affair a long time ago, now seems that destiny has made their paths cross again.
Will they make the same errors from the past when they were young or will this summer change their fate?

When I read that Carrie Elks had written a new book I couldn't wait to have it on my hands!
This is a refreshing and funny summer romance, full of beautiful scenes and Italy as a romantic landscape, this book will transport you to a sweet and romantic dream.
The sparkles between the two main characters are bright and burning, because you know that the line between love and hate is quite thin, but they will discover their true feelings and confront all their fears and problems if they want these sparks to become a real fire...
I liked "Summer's Lease" but it didn't move like the first book of Carrie Elks "Fix You". Maybe it was because I didn't like very much the main characters, specially Sam, who seems too much self centred to be someone you should trust with your feelings... or Cesca that just looks how her life passes instead of fighting for her dreams!
I liked how the family is always present in all the book, and I can't wait to read all the books of "The Shakespeare Sisters" I am sure they will be worth the read!
Ready for a little summer romance?
