Pretty good book overall, but not my favorite. The climax definitely felt rushed, even though the book had more than enough time to devote to it. The antagonist was evil and predictable without a lot of "inner life". The love story felt under developed and almost out of nowhere to evolve so quickly in a matter of chapters. While I enjoyed having a half Indian main character, there was some problematic dealings with racism and sexism that I wasn't a fan of. I also worry that the author did not know enough about the people and religion to properly represent Hinduism...
I also dont really enjoy characters that fight for feminism in historical periods because it isn' really presenting any new takes on equality to the reader.
Overall, the story felt a little flat.
