I may have used the wrong approach on this one, since it has been praised as the best work to dive into Palahniuk's world.
This was my second Pahlaniuk Book, the first one was "Haunted", and I liked it a lot better than this one, even if I must acknowledge that both the plot and the language of "Invisible Monster" are richer.
I guess that my biggest problem with this book were the lengthy metaphorical descriptions, which sometimes made me loose sight of what was actually happening completely.
Jump back to.... (Let's set a scene)
Then
Lengthy metaphorical description
Then
Amazing Sentence which easily becomes one of your favourite quotes ever
Then
Lenghty metaphorical description again
Then
Plot Twist (which does not hit you as much as it should since you have lost the plot in one of the previous description)
It was way too "messy" and redundant for me on some parts, and I am somewhat sad about not beeing able to like it more.

i love palahniuk, but this really wasn't what i was expecting.
still has that hilarious post-modern witticism, and i still enjoyed myself, but i did expect more. let's hope that the next ones i read will be more fulfilling.
the storyline and writing just felt really cheap at times, but let me tell you i still laughed my fucking ass off.

Constant shocking turn of events. Not as gruesome as I though it would be but it still satisfied.
