This book was one of the last books I read when I was on my large poetry kick. I heard about this book when I was watching ASMR and it was a book that one of the artists I listened to read out of it. It was both a sad read and then a hopeful one. I think it talked normally about how relationships can change and how some people will always have a special place in your heart. I do like the book but I was a bit bored near the end of the book.

“That's the tragedy of growing up-knowing you'll run out of feeling something new for the first time. The sad thing is you only get so many of those moments--a handful if you're lucky and then you spend the rest of your life turning them over in your head “

FOR THE WORLD
“I talk to you all the time, even if you can't hear me. I tell you constantly, over and over, how much I miss you and that for me, nothing has changed. I think about the days when we could say anything to each other. My heart is like a time capsule -it keeps safe the memory of you. I know it's harder with you gone than if you had never been here at all but I wouldn't have missed it for the world”

"The sad thing is," she said, "the moment you start to miss someone, it means they're already gone."

“I missed you today. Between waking and sleepirg, I thought of you.
We met somewhere inside an insomniac's dream, in a world so precarious- it could crumble at any given time-folding at the slightest touch.

"Don't you get it?» he said. "The ones who are afraid of heights don't trust themselves enough not to jump."

Lover’s Paradox
“She is deaf and he is blind and he tells her he loves her over and over and she writes him every day but never hears a thing back.”

Of Lang Leav's books, this one is definitely my favourite. It's still starry-eyed, but with the theme, which I loved, I think it worked a little more for me. It reminded me of the quantum physics phenomenon Spooky Action at a Distance (which was Einstein's theory that was eventually proven true).

Though I tend to lean on the side of poetry not being my favorite thing, I liked aspects of this collection. For me, what it lacked was more unique viewpoints on a subject we're all familiar with, love. When Leav did bring her unique viewpoint, it was great and that's where she really shined.

Earlier this year, I purged all my poetry books except this one. What I like about this book is that it's deep but without trying too hard in the way it becomes cringey.

I also LOVE the cover (not important, but I thought I’d mention that anyway).
