Unfortunately, this one kind of put me in a reading slump. In the end, I feel like it was all very anticlimactic and I didn't see any of the growth that I was hoping for in the main character. I think there was a piece of information at the end that was intended as a revelation/twist of sorts, but I think it fell flat as the main clue came only a few chapters prior. I would have liked to receive that foreshadowing earlier in the book, providing more to reflect on and piece together on my own.

Maybe life would deliver all the things we wanted, I thought, just never at the right time or with the right person.

What continues to surprise me, and what I still don't understand, is not the reasons that love ends but the way that it endures.

I liked the story but it didn’t stand out from others in the same genre. It was enjoyable but I’m sure I will forget it over time

“what kind of woman would i have to be to keep him?”

“there is no end to grief, because there is no end to love”
this was slow and really introspective but the prose and imagery were beautiful. it felt like pressing on a bruise and that tickle in your throat before you start to cry
