I liked this as part two to the series, hopefully we get answers soon. Eep.
Omg. The second book was even better than the first! I loathe the cliffhangers, but the writing is amazing! You are absolutely hooked from the first word. Can't wait for number three. When???
NO ! I swear I should've strayed away from these books. Now how would I survive the year(?) til the 3rd book comes out?!?! ahhhhh
As I assumed, not much happened in this novella. However I accept that because it is a connector and to be fair it squeezed in 145 pages. While questions weren't really answered you did learn more information. I just cannot wait for part 3!!!!!!
Fun read that keeps you engaged and guessing. Looking forward to the next one!
so...less happened in this one. and i'm a little worried about how part 3 can convincingly wrap up the story since there wasn't too much progression in part 2. all that being said i read this in an hour or two so that's always fun... i'll try to get to part 3 soon.
Still no clue on what is happening but you’ve got me interested
Silas and them letters, yo! He is one swoony mofo! This definitely gave us more to chew on then any answers, and though the ending wasn't as brutal as the first, it was still a cliffy. And yet I still can't find it in myself to dock it any stars. Sometimes there are forces at work in the publishing world that we're not aware of and I guess I'm just grateful that I know there's more swoony Silas to come and hopefully lots more kisses too!
Full(er?) review to come... maybe.

I reviewed this title with one of my co-bloggers, Ana. You can find our original review here on The Book Hookup.
Christina: *taps chin* What to say, what to say? I guess for those who have read the first part, definitely expect the questions and thrill ride to continue in the second installment. For those very few who haven't read either: WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON ALREADY!!! My emotions were definitely all over the place in this second book just like they were in the first. I scrambled through the pages as quickly as possible, clutching to every minute detail of new information we were given and savoring every single second of Silas's backstory that was layered on particularly thick. That boy, you guise! He is one very swoony mofo. I will say that I was a tiny bit sad that we didn't have Silas and Charlie sharing a lot more joint page time together, but that ending almost made up for it. Let's just say that I'm definitely hoping they pick up right where they left off here and maybe take their time with it. ;D
I'm also going to note this: I see talk of many people being upset about all the lingering questions and the cliffhanger-- though this one was nowhere near as brutal as the last one, in my opinion-- but I have to be honest and say that while I'm jonesing for the next installment, I'm not mad at the authors. I realize that Silas and Charlie's journey is not a sprint (though each part feels that way), but a marathon, and I suppose I'm sliding all my chips into the pot and betting on them. (Yes, I realize I'm adding in and mixing up all these different saying, but whatever. Just roll with it, okay?) I'm not sure exactly how many installments are left in this serial (Does anyone know?), but I know I'll be bouncing with excitement and waiting for every single one to upload along the way.
Ana: I don't even know what to say...there's so much to tell you and yet, so little. I can't believe that they packed that much into such a short story. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, grasping at every tidbit of information. But, there's still so much I don't know. So, I guess all I can say is GIMME THE NEXT BOOK NOW!!!
Seriously, I don't want to ruin your experience but I can definitely tell you that I love Silas more than ever now! What we learn about him in the past is all kinds of swoony!! I also loved that we got to see more of his brother in this one. The original mystery continues in this installment and, as if that wasn't enough, a few more unknowns are added. Even though we're given more information about who and maybe even how, it's still not enough for my mind to put all the puzzle pieces together to make a full picture. All I know is that I will be waiting on pins and needles to see how this all turns out.
Guess I should end my review before it becomes longer than the book. But, honestly, folks...this is a must read. I know that many of you don't like cliffhangers and might wait until all three installments are done to read it and that's a great idea. Just, please, make sure you read it!! I know you'll love it!!
