i probably would have gained more from this book had i read it earlier in my political education, but nonetheless liked the reinforcement of critical consciousness (which i knew about but probably wouldn't have been able to name prior to this book), and the stance against the banking model (which, as i start to begin to make programming for public libraries, is v relevant). i'm also not an auditory learning, so i probably should not have listened to the audiobook, but oh well.

I think I understood the main points and I'm glad that I read it, but this was more difficult than I was prepared for and a lot of it went over my head. Also, I was bracing myself for way worse sexism, so it didn't even seem all that bad on that score. Was not prepared for the overt and repeated anthropocentricism, though. Did love the sound of the word conscientização
