Written well, but quite droll in truth. Dickens reminds us that we should not always think of Christmas as a child does, but neither should we discard those feelings entirely. Instead, with our childlike ignorance of death banished, we use Christmas as a peaceful time to remember those who have died and cannot be with us on such a sacred, happy time. It's not the best thing he's ever written, but the sentiment is a wonder to behold.

This feels like an academic article on Christmas and truth be told, sometimes it’s quite difficult to comprehend the purpose of Dickens when his eloquence dominates the text. Well, all I can say that when we grow old, the way we appreciate Christmas changes drastically; we do not consider death when we’re young but we invite "the dead" to our Christmas gathering when we’re older and wiser as we think more of the deceased in such special times as Christmas. Come whoever you are, should be the motto of the book, Dickens says we should leave behind all resentments and past quarrels and focus on the moment and future. Don’t be fooled by the page number, there’s some heavy-lifting in this little book for readers. Dickens sure has a unique way of expressing his opinions and this is a good read that does not consume much time.

Loved A Christmas Carol. The other stories were ok, but only vaguely mention Christmas.
