I'm thoroughly enjoying this series - it's been hilarious fun seeing Sonja let loose on modern New York, and I've liked seeing ancient Hyrkania being interwoven into our history. Who wouldn't want to live in a world where you can cosplay Hyrkanians from your own history, and learn Cimmerian as a part of your PhD studies?

The villain remains moustache-twirlingly evil in a satisfyingly pulpy fashion, and it's great seeing Sonja prove so generally unflappable about being out of time. With an entourage of enthusiastic university students, determined pensioners who want to stick a thumb in the rich dictator's eye and a battle due to be fought in a Coney Island fairground, this issue was definitely satisfying, although it seems unfair that everyone's so determined to keep Sonja away from exploring craft beers and triple-distilled spirits...

This issue sets us up for what I'm guessing is the end of graphic novel final issue and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what happens. (I'm guessing they win, but there's an outside chance a house-sized demon might get hit with a ferris wheel, and who doesn't want to see that?)
