Am I still confused about what exactly happened and why? Yes. Yes I am. But I was just so happy to be along for the ride that I don’t care. Ern has a dry sorta humor and lived him as the “reliable narrator.”

I’ll likely reread this again someday to have more context while I’m going through it to hopefully catch all of the things that were laid out along the way.

This was a lot of fun, I loved how aware of itself it was while still keeping certain aspects close to the chest. I really enjoyed it!
It’s ironic because the title makes you think the same way the culprit does, that the whole family is killers, until we learn it’s all very incidental.

This was a really fun book! It breaks the fourth wall fully calling out murder mystery tropes & directly addressing the reader with spoilers etc.
Although I really loved it & laughed out loud several times. There was just something missing from it to make it an all time favorite. But would definitely recommend!

EIMFHKS is such a fun murder mystery. I feel like the clues are there, but I still didn't have it figured out before the explanation at the end delivered via dramatic monologue. The protagonist is a great amateur detective and manages to put it all together nicely during the big reveal.
