I enjoyed this book. While it wasn't anything complicated and was quite predictable... for a Halloween read or something of that nature I feel it is perfect. It is not complicated or difficult to understand but is just a traditional ghost story that you would imagine someone telling around a camp fire or on a chilly night. For a just for fun kind of book I think it does the trick. Now to watch the movie with Daniel Radcliffe ;)

3.5 Stars for The Women in Black.
We open the story with our main Character Artur Kipps and his family telling Ghost stories around the fire on Christmas eve, Arthur struggling with memories of his past quickly steps away before reliving his spooky experiences.
Arthur, a Junior lawyer is sent into the countryside to attend a funeral for one of his law firm’s clients, he quickly realizes that all is not normal with the house he must explore.
The story is well written leaving most of the horror to your imagination with the final chapter ending well and genuinely leaving me with chills.
I would have liked more from the story but remembering this book is under 200 pages I feel like the story is well fleshed out with the main character of Arthur well fleshed out and believable, now I need to watch the stage show!

I did not like this book as it wasn't scary at all and why did the MC decide to go back to staying at the house after the failure the first time????? But also I think the audiobook made it even worse as the dialogue was set to half the volume of the narration, which was almost too quiet. And before something scary would happen there would be a scary sound then a long sentence where you find out what happened and the scary sound definitely should've been after the sentence not before it. Also there was like a funny accordion sound in some of the scary parts which gave off comedic vibes. Also listening to something with background noises while walking around trying to listen for dogs and people is very confusing. I don't get why people would like these things in an audiobook. All I want is clear outloud reading with maybe some voice acting, nothing fancy.
