I originally gave this 1 star because the content made me ILL- but the reality is it was just triggering for me. The author does a really well done style of writing to convey the panic going through the main character’s thoughts. 0/10 experience but a 1 star wasn’t fair.

Well that was distriburing. Absolutely brutal. Not for every one and hard in many places to make out what is going on. I had to re read sections several times. It was haunting being in side someone's head who is going to through so much.
The biggest Trigger Warning should be stuck on this book.

tough read contextually and also stylistically. the stylistic choice was so purposeful though, and even though i had to read some parts slower, it was definitely worth the read. some parts were really heavy so proceed with caution. i’ve honestly never read a book like this before, the closest one i can think of is their eyes were watching god in terms of the author’s stylistic choice with language.

Easily my newest favorite book. Any book that makes me cry is a true winner in my eyes. Prose style so unique and all-encompassing that I felt compelled to continue reading despite having mountains of other things to do. Need to read again once my mind settles down to catch all of the small nuances in the narrative I likely missed upon the first read though. If I could, 6 out of 5 stars.
