Wow I could not stop reading this! If you like stories with cults, rare psychological diagnoses, and crazy timelines that always keep you guessing this book is for you. Quite violent and scary but not over the top in the gruesome details. Made me jump at sounds I heard while reading but could still sleep at night. I caught onto a few things but had no clue where we’d end up. Very much American Horror Story early seasons vibes.

Just…so bad. I wish I could have DNF’d this early on, but the first half seemed promising. It just got so so confusing that I literally do not understand what happened in the end at all. I don’t think is a good book for audiobook listening to be fair, but like what? It felt like too many twists, characters and backstories that I could not keep straight. I did not enjoy this one.

I will say that there was a part of this I came to decide was true right away, and I’m sure that was intentional. I think that the author KNEW that people would decide that but the way that it was slowly reveled as the story went on was amazing. I had such an easy time sympathizing with almost everyone in this story, and instantly got bad vibes from the character that is actually a bad guy. Detective Danny Gomes and his wife Eliza are absolutely amazing, they aren’t in the story a TON but every time they are in there they are so perfect. I really enjoyed this book. I really enjoyed the slow break down of what was happening, the insight into these characters minds and the turns that it took as it went along. Absolutely recommend this to anyone and everyone. It was so good.
