Man, I need to get a dead bolt for my door after reading this.
I love the horror and psychological thriller aspect of this. Copy cat killers fascinate me, as it inherently goes against the narcissistic need of serial killers. So, when I got the chance to read this book that examines not just a copy cat killer and how it terrifies people, but also the trauma of living after a serial killer terrorizes your town, I jumped on it. This book left me feeling really creeped out and scared, I had to lock my doors three times before I went to bed.
Thank you Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for the ARC of this book!

This book had ZERO chill... and I loved it.
There were layers and layers to this, with barely any breathing room (in the best way possible).
Hidden secrets, kidnappings, murders, cults, OH MY!
If you want a fast-paced, full-of-action, spooky read, Sleep Tight is the book for you!
I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved the narration! I look forward to more spooky reads similar to this in the future!
4 ⭐️ (solid read)

3.75: Oh man, my mind has just survived a mental obstacle course trying to keep up with all the "crazy" in this book. It truly was a mindf**k, where I would fit in with the characters. It wasn't bad, but very different from the horror plot I was expecting. The twist at the end got a little predictable, but I have to give it to the author for swinging for the fences. If you are wanting something unique, this is your book, but brace yourself for your mind to be spinning.
2.5ish. I feel so meh about this but think it’s one the more I talk about, the more I dislike.

Tess Claibourne is a detective, just like her father- Twisted Tree policeman who arrested local serial killer, Father Silence, nearly twenty years prior. When Father Silence is finally put to death, a chain reaction of events unveils a copycat killer- The Outcast- who kidnaps Tess's daughter. In addition to seeking out the sole survivor of Father Silence, Tess has to unlock repressed memories from her childhood in order to find clues to her daughter and the identity of The Outcast.
I listened to the audiobook version of this on my road trip through Texas and it kept me so focused that I barely wanted to stop for any breaks! It is definitely more on the horror end of the thriller genre- I think it would make for an excellent film. The descriptions of the Outcast and his eyes, the children's drawings, so many details of this book are creepy in the best way. I'm VERY glad that I chose it for one of my #bookofthemonth boxes in 2024! 4.5☆

What a great cast of characters. An emotional rollercoaster of events that spans years but take place in just over 72 hours. I really hope he writes a follow up to this book. This is definitely a good book if you can handle some of the darker sides of human nature. It's a great reminder that even good people can do bad things and have flaws and not all monsters are truly bad people at heart. The mom is flawed but relatable. The kidnapper has a good heart but was tragically screwed up as a child.
