This chapbook contains a science-fiction narrative presented in the form of twenty-nine poems, with the added bonus of illustrations by Marge Simon. The author, Kendall Evans, has twice won the Rhysling Award. Most of the poems are short, and the chapbook reads very quickly. With echoes of the Bible (especially the story of the baby Moses) and of Edgar Allen Poe, the story takes place in a huge spaceship with a mad AI. I found it diverting from moment to moment, but was never properly caught up by the plot and characters.
